Two Golden Days on Vietnam's Wild East Coast - Phu Yen | Thảo & Quân
Thảo and Quân found us in the loveliest way, through a friend who had been a guest at a wedding our team photographed and who thought of us for them. We connected quickly, the kind of easy understanding that comes when two people share the same way of thinking and the same taste in images.
After weighing up many locations, we chose Phú Yên, one of the wildest and, we would happily argue, most beautiful stretches of coast in all of Vietnam. It is home to Mũi Điện, the easternmost cape on the mainland, the very place that greets the first sunlight to touch Vietnamese soil each morning.
Phú Yên did not disappoint. It gave us two full days of soft, peaceful sunshine. There was no elaborate concept to chase. It was simply the two of them and the most beautiful corners of Phú Yên, held in the gentle golden light of central Vietnam in April. Sunrise at Mũi Điện and at Bãi Xếp, the beach made famous by Victor Vũ's film "Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass", and a radiant yet peaceful sunset along the Xóm Rớ embankment.
All of it made for a Phú Yên that felt dreamy and unforgettable, the perfect setting for Thảo and Quân's two days by the sea. Phú Yên, we will see you again before too long.
