A slow morning by the sea

The day opened gently in the resort's rooms, the getting-ready hours that we love most: the quiet before, the details, a letter read alone, the last look in the mirror. With the coast just outside the window, there was no rush anywhere.

A ceremony among the palms

Long and Hà exchanged their vows outdoors, an aisle laid through the palms with the sea shining beyond. There is a particular joy to a beach-resort ceremony: friends and family who have travelled to be there, petals in the air, and that soft coastal light on everyone's faces. It was warm, it was emotional, and it was entirely theirs.

Golden hour over the coast

As the afternoon softened, the whole resort turned gold and then a deep amber over the sea, the kind of sky you travel to Cam Ranh hoping for and rarely dare to expect.

A night under a canopy of light

After dark the celebration came alive under a ceiling of fairy lights, a long table glowing in the warm night, a first dance, and a party that ran late and happy. For a destination wedding, the evening is half the reason to do it, and Long and Hà's was pure magic.

The Cam Ranh coast, just south of Nha Trang, has quietly become one of Vietnam's finest stretches for a beach-resort wedding: long white beaches, five-star resorts like Mövenpick with everything a short walk apart, reliable sunsets and warm, calm seas. A few things we have learned photographing here: time the ceremony for the last 60 to 90 minutes before sunset for that golden light, keep a relaxed dinner rather than a rigid programme, and let the resort handle the logistics so you can simply be present. The dry season, roughly February to August, gives you the steadiest coastal weather.
