A Film Wedding at An Lam Retreats on the Saigon River | Natasha & Nick

Some weddings feel like stepping into another world. Natasha and Nick's did, on the lush, riverside grounds of An Lam Retreats on the Saigon River, where we photographed their whole day on 35mm film. Tropical gardens, deep reds and blush pinks, soft river light, and a celebration that ran from a quiet morning into a glowing, fog-filled night. This is their film wedding at An Lam Retreats.

The venue: An Lam Retreats on the Saigon River

An Lam Retreats Saigon River is one of the most atmospheric wedding venues near Ho Chi Minh City. Tucked along a green, curving stretch of the Saigon River, it is reached by a short boat ride from the city, around twenty-five minutes on the water, and opens into tropical gardens, timber villas and quiet river decks. That feeling of arriving somewhere hidden is exactly what makes it so special for a riverside destination wedding.

A lush garden ceremony

Natasha and Nick married under the trees, on a petal-strewn aisle that wound through the gardens to a full, abundant floral arch in deep reds and blush pinks. Surrounded by greenery and the people they love, it felt intimate, wild and warm all at once, the kind of ceremony this setting seems made for.

Documentary moments, from morning to night

We photographed the day the way we love most: as it happened. The quiet of getting ready, the nervous laughter, the first look, the tears during the vows, confetti in the air, and family and friends folded into every frame. Nothing staged, just the true shape of the day.

Shot on 35mm film

We captured the whole wedding on 35mm film, and An Lam is exactly the kind of place film loves. The grain and the soft, honest colour hold the deep reds, the jungle greens and the river light in a way that feels timeless rather than trend-led. Film also asks us to slow down and wait for the real moment, which is how a day like this deserves to be remembered.

Into the night

As the sun dropped behind the palms, the celebration moved indoors and the floor filled with low fog, sparkling light and a first dance that looked like a scene from a film. From the riverside morning to the last song of the night, it was a day with no quiet corner left uncelebrated.
