Bình & Hà: A Simple Film Pre-Wedding in Da Lat

Most Da Lat pre-weddings come with a checklist: chase the sunrise, find the pine forest, catch the sea of clouds. For Bình and Hà, we threw the checklist away.

This was a film pre-wedding in Da Lat with almost none of the usual must-have spots. No racing the dawn, no famous landmarks. Just a slow morning, a few rolls of film, and two people quietly in love.

A slow morning around Xuan Huong Lake

We let the day move at its own pace. Da Lat in the early hours is cool and unhurried, mist still lifting off the water and the shopfronts slowly waking. We simply walked: a lap around Xuan Huong Lake, a few familiar street corners, and a small house on the edge of town.

No rushing from one backdrop to the next. For a while, the quiet streets were almost entirely theirs.

The real photos happen in the quiet

And somewhere in that slowness, the real photographs happened. A shared laugh at nothing in particular. A hand reaching for a hand. The way they leaned into each other while waiting to cross the street.

None of it was posed, and that is precisely why it felt so true. Our only job was to walk alongside them and pay attention.

Why we shot it on film

Film suits a morning like this. It slows everyone down, rewards patience over perfection, and wraps everything in a soft, grainy warmth that still feels honest years later. Paired with Da Lat’s gentle highland light, it is made for a love story told simply.

It sounds understated, and it was. But that simplicity is exactly what made this one of the most enjoyable Da Lat pre-weddings we have ever shot.
