Unlike the tropical heat of Nha Trang or Phu Quoc, Da Lat stays cool and gentle all year round, and that comfort matters more than couples expect. When you are not sweating through your outfit, you relax, and relaxed couples make natural, emotional photographs. The second reason is variety: the scenery changes every few kilometres, from cherry blossoms and tea hills to pine forests, lakes and pastel French-era villas, so a single day can feel like several different worlds. And the light here is famously soft, filtered through mist and pine, forgiving from sunrise to dusk. It is also excellent value: a highland pre-wedding in Vietnam costs a fraction of an equivalent shoot in Europe, the US or Australia. For couples who love a film look, Da Lat is where our fine-art film work really sings.
We design each route around your personalities rather than a fixed checklist, but these are the spots we return to again and again:

You do not need to visit all of these in one day, three well-chosen locations is usually the sweet spot. Trying to fit in too many means a lot of driving and changing, and less time actually being present with each other, which is where the best frames come from. To see how a multi-location day can look, take a look at An & Phuong's three-location Da Lat pre-wedding.

Da Lat is beautiful year-round thanks to its cool highland climate, but the season shapes the mood. The dry season (roughly November to April) offers the clearest light and the softest, most reliable mornings, our favourite window for sunrise sessions and the sea of clouds. Cherry blossoms usually appear around January to February, a magical but short-lived window worth planning around if pink blossoms are your dream. The green season (May to October) brings misty, moody light and lush hillsides; it can rain, but highland rain often clears to reveal the most extraordinary golden light afterwards. Whatever the month, we build the shoot around the two best hours of the day, and keep a flexible plan so weather never derails it. For a fuller breakdown, see our guide to the best time of year to shoot in Vietnam.

Most of our sessions start early. We meet before sunrise, chase that first hour of soft light at a lake or hilltop, then move through one or two more locations as the morning warms, with a break for coffee and an outfit change. Many couples pause in the heart of the day to rest, then return for golden hour in the late afternoon for a final, glowing set. It is unhurried by design: we would rather give you room to breathe than rush between ten backdrops. Along the way we guide you gently, a little direction, a lot of just letting you be together, so the images feel like you, not like a catalogue.

Bring two outfits: one comfortable and easy to move in (ideal for forests, hills and early mornings), and one that feels a little more elegant or formal for the villas and golden hour. Soft, flowing fabrics photograph beautifully in the highland breeze, and neutral or muted tones sit naturally against Da Lat's green and misty palette. A light layer helps for the cool dawn air. Most of all, wear things you feel like yourself in, comfort reads as confidence in every frame.
This is how most of our Da Lat couples do it, and we make it simple. We plan the concept, route and timeline with you by email or video call before you arrive, scout and secure the locations, and guide you in English throughout. Fly in a day early to rest and adjust to the cool air, and please confirm the current visa rules for your nationality before you book. Whether you are travelling from overseas or studying abroad and coming home to marry, we handle the logistics so all you have to do is show up and be present. A highland pre-wedding is also the perfect companion to an elopement or a full destination wedding in Vietnam.
Pre-wedding sessions in Da Lat start from around 20,000,000 VND (about US$800), tailored to your concept and the number of locations. We send an exact quote once we know your plans.
