Phu Quoc (Phú Quốc) is Vietnam's largest island, sitting in the calm Gulf of Thailand off the country's southwest coast. Over the last few years it has become Southeast Asia's rising star for beachfront resort weddings, and for good reason:
Most overseas couples have a symbolic beach ceremony on Phu Quoc, real vows, a celebrant and all the emotion, while handling the legal marriage paperwork back home where it is far simpler. A legally binding marriage in Vietnam is possible but involves consular and local paperwork most travelling couples prefer to skip. The day looks and feels identical either way. We explain the difference in our guide on whether foreigners can legally marry in Vietnam.
Phu Quoc has two clear seasons, and for a beach wedding the timing really matters:
For that famous fiery sunset over the water, plan your ceremony for the last 60 to 90 minutes before sundown on a west-facing beach.

Almost every Phu Quoc beach wedding happens at a resort, which keeps the whole day, ceremony, dinner, guest rooms, in one place. Our favourites:

Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) receives direct international flights from Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul and other regional hubs, plus frequent domestic flights from Ho Chi Minh City (about 1 hour) and Hanoi. Combined with 30-day visa-free entry, it is one of the easiest destination-wedding spots in Asia for overseas guests. The island itself is small; resorts arrange airport transfers, and we organise a private car for the wedding day so you never watch the clock.
Your wedding resort is usually where you and your closest guests stay, which keeps everything effortless. Beyond the big beachfront names, Phu Quoc has boutique options like Salinda, Fusion Resort, La Veranda and the Sailing Club for a more intimate feel. Staying on the west coast puts you on the sunset side of the island; the south (around Khem and Sao beaches) has the most photogenic white sand.

A destination wedding on Phu Quoc costs a fraction of a comparable beach wedding in Europe, Australia or the Maldives, which is a big reason couples choose Vietnam. Resort wedding packages, photography, a celebrant, hair and makeup and florals all cost far less here without cutting corners. For a transparent breakdown of photography and what a package includes, see our guide on wedding photography costs in Vietnam and our elopement cost guide for smaller celebrations.
For a beachfront wedding you will typically want a photographer (and optionally a videographer or content creator), a celebrant, hair and makeup, florals and styling for the arch and reception, and your resort's wedding coordinator for the setup. As a Vietnam-based team we speak English, work with the island's resorts and can help arrange the wider team, so couples flying in can simply arrive and enjoy the day.
The best way to picture your own day is to see a real one. Take a look at Natalie & Hung's beach wedding at InterContinental Phu Quoc, a golden afternoon on the sand that ended with the whole sky turning red, and see more of our work as a Phu Quoc wedding photographer and across our destination weddings in Vietnam.

Phu Quoc is visa-free for up to 30 days for all nationalities, which makes it one of the easiest destination-wedding spots in Asia for international guests. For a symbolic ceremony you need nothing beyond your passport.
The dry season, November to April, gives the sunniest days, calmest seas and the most reliable fiery sunsets. Time the ceremony for the last 60 to 90 minutes before sundown on a west-facing beach.
West-coast resorts like InterContinental Phu Quoc are ideal for sunset ceremonies, while the south (JW Marriott on Khem Beach, and Sao Beach) has the whitest sand and clearest water. We photograph across all of them.
Phu Quoc International Airport has direct flights from Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul and other regional cities, plus short domestic flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Far less than a comparable beach wedding in Europe, Australia or the Maldives. It depends on your resort, guest count and coverage. See our Vietnam wedding cost guide for a transparent breakdown.
