Frequently Asked Questions

Everything couples ask before planning a wedding or pre-wedding shoot in Vietnam.

Home — FAQ

We're TIMO Wedding, a small team of wedding & pre-wedding photographers in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) who love walking alongside couples, working mostly with foreign and overseas-Vietnamese couples. Here are the questions we're asked most before a shoot in Vietnam.

About us & our style

What is TIMO's photography and film style?

Our style is personal above all. Every set of photos and every film is built around the couple and the real stories hiding inside each frame. We don't chase a gallery that only looks perfect. We care more about the feeling and the story behind it, while still holding ourselves to a very high standard of beauty and craft. Our hope is simple. When you look back in 10, 20 or even 50 years, you should still be able to feel exactly how that day unfolded.

Do you work with foreign and overseas Vietnamese couples?

Absolutely. Most of the couples we photograph are travelling from overseas or living abroad. We speak English, plan everything together before you arrive, and keep the day easy and unhurried so you can simply enjoy it.

Pricing, booking & delivery

How much does a wedding photographer in Vietnam cost?

Our pre-wedding sessions start from around 15,000,000 VND (about US$600), elopements from 20,000,000 VND, traditional wedding-day coverage from 15,000,000 VND, and destination weddings from 21,000,000 VND. Because every couple's plans are different, we'll send an exact quote once we know your dates and locations.

What's included, and how do we receive our photos?

Every wedding is different, so the number of images depends on the day itself and how many real moments there are to capture. We hand-retouch and deliver all of your photos, removing only duplicates and technical errors, so nothing meaningful is ever left out. You receive everything as high-resolution digital files through a private online link.

How soon do we get our photos and film?

Our usual delivery time is five weeks from your wedding day, and we often finish sooner. For weddings, we also send a set of sneak-peek photos and a short teaser film within about 5 to 7 days, so you have something beautiful to share right away while we complete the full gallery.

We're planning from abroad. How does it work?

That is completely normal for us. Many of our couples book from overseas and only arrive shortly before the shoot. We plan everything together beforehand by email or chat, from the concept and outfits to the timeline and locations, so by the time you land, all you need to do is enjoy it.

How far in advance should we book, and how do we pay?

The sooner the better, as favourite dates and peak season book up months ahead. Send us your date, location and a few ideas through the booking form and we'll reply within 24 hours with availability and a tailored quote. To secure your date we ask for a 40% deposit, with the balance due right after the shoot or wedding is finished.

Planning your shoot in Vietnam

Where are you based, and where in Vietnam do you shoot?

We're wedding and pre-wedding photographers based in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), and we shoot right across Vietnam. Popular choices include Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Ninh Binh, Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An and Sapa, and we're always happy to travel further for a destination wedding, at home or abroad.

When is the best time of year for a wedding or pre-wedding shoot in Vietnam?

In the south, meaning Saigon and Phu Quoc, the dry season from November to April is the safest bet for good weather. Da Lat is lovely all year, while the north (Ninh Binh, Ha Long) is at its best from September to April. Tell us your location and we'll help you pick the right window.

What are the best locations for a wedding or pre-wedding shoot in Vietnam?

Vietnam is full of beautiful backdrops, and the best one depends on the feeling you're after. A few of our favourites: Da Lat for cool pine forests and flower gardens; Phu Quoc for white-sand beaches and sunsets over the sea; Hoi An for its lantern-lit old town and riverside charm; Hue for romantic imperial architecture; Sapa for misty mountains and terraced rice fields; Ha Giang for wild, dramatic mountain passes; Phu Yen for unspoiled, quiet coastline; along with Saigon's French-colonial streets, Mui Ne's sand dunes, Ninh Binh's limestone rivers and Ha Long Bay. Tell us the mood you want and we'll help you choose the perfect spot.

Do you shoot on film as well as digital?

Yes. We shoot both fine-art film and digital, and often blend the two. Film has a soft, timeless feel that many of our couples fall for, and we'll suggest whatever suits your story and budget.

Do you provide wedding films (video) too?

We do. Alongside photography we make cinematic wedding films, from short highlight edits to longer documentary pieces, so you can relive the day, not just look back on it.
